I will sleep much better tonight. I noticed a crack in my foundation and called Bay Area Underpinning. Hunter came out and walked the entire property and went underneath. He identified one other issue that I knew about besides the crack and told me they could fix that too. I had no idea you call structural engineers for chimneys. His quote was fair to me and you can't beat the warranty. Today Jesus Villagomes and Erick Baez came out and fixed the crack, they also looked around underneath and reassured me AGAIN that my house was in good shape. Because I caught it early they were able to fill the crack and then add a carbon fiber exposy seal. They also sealed the crack from the outside, even though they had already filled it in under the house. They were professional, answered all my questions, no matter how many and honestly were just pleasant to work with. They also explained my maintenance plan so I knew what to expect. I would absolutely recommend this entire team, to stay professionally kind in high heat is amazing.

We just bought a house, and literally every single metal pier in the crawlspace was rusted out. Bay Are Underpinning came in and did an awesome job. Their inspector Aaron was super thorough in assessing the damage and explained everything in detail. Then, the repair crew of Eric, Jesus, and Andrew came in and knocked out the entire job in a day — a huge relief considering we had a ton of other work we need to get done before moving in. The work is not cheap, but they offer financing options and stand by their work, so I feel very good about the entire job.

Within a few months of buying our first home, we noticed some troubling signs: bedroom doors swinging open or closed on their own, “bubbles” and creaks in sections of the newly renovated floors, and significant cracks splitting the concrete in our garage. Although two general inspectors assured us that our house was level, we reached out to Bay Area Underpinning (BAU) for a more detailed assessment—and we're so glad we did! Inspector Christopher Murray conducted a meticulous inspection with radar equipment. While technically our house was level, Christopher uncovered that our foundation was sinking by inches in multiple areas, explaining the issues we were experiencing. Though the news and associated repair cost were a bit daunting as new homeowners, Christopher’s knowledge, professionalism, and clear answers to all our questions reassured us that we were in good hands. With confidence, we decided to proceed with BAU for the repair. Fredy Mora and his crew did exceptional work with the demo of the old concrete slabs and the prep for lifting, working quickly and efficiently. Fredy’s positive attitude made the process smooth, and his team was thorough and dedicated from start to finish. A special thank you to our lift project manager, Kevin Gaeden. Kevin was an outstanding communicator, keeping us fully informed and addressing every question promptly. His attentiveness made a huge difference throughout the project, and we felt reassured every step of the way. Esteban Ibarra, a crewmember on the lift team, also did superb work, handling the hands-on details with skill and care. Both Kevin and Esteban even went above and beyond, taking time to fix a jammed bedroom door that had shifted with the house lift. While foundation issues are never easy, we couldn’t have asked for a better team. We’re incredibly grateful to Bay Area Underpinning for their expertise, professionalism, and exceptional service. Thank you Bay Area Underpinning for saving the day! I was in a challenging and prolonged situation since going into contract with EagleLift for the stabilization/lift for my house. After a long permit process and continuously delayed start dates, I was informed that EagleLift had been acquired by Groundworks and I’d have to wait a few more month before any progress could happen. It was a deeply frustrating process but the EagleLift team was able to connect us with Bay Area Underpinning (another Groundworks company) who were able to take over and expedite the project. To my surprise, James T. from BAU reached out quickly and assigned a team to come to my house within a week! The team that ended up working on the house, specifically Ish, John and Abel were exceptional. They were diligent, knowledgable, friendly and deeply considerate. They are truly pros who knocked the project out in no time which was reassuring since I was nervous that this project was gonna stretch into the rainy season. My house feels so stable now (minimal cracks too) and the considerable slope is now practically nonexistent! We recently purchased a home in San Jose. In the report it stated that our home was fine and no foundation issues were noted. Upon moving in my wife noticed some cracks started to appear on the walls around the house. We contacted Bay Area underpinning to have them come and inspect our house. A couple of days before our appointment, Jim Rivera gave us a call to confirm the day and time of the appointment. This was the first positive experience we had with Jim and BAU. On the day of the appointment Jim called to let us know that he was 30 minutes away and showed up right on time. Once he arrived he listened to the issues we were noticing and then he went to work. He brought in some hi-tek tools and explained to us what the readings meant. Jim was extremely thorough and personable. He clearly has a lot of knowledge and showed us a bunch of photos that he took while he was in our crawlspace as well as photos of some exterior things that he noticed. Overall he said our home was in great condition with only minimal issues that we should address. He was very patient in answering all of our questions and provided us with a quote when he was finished. We were pleasantly surprised that the cost was very reasonable and comes with a lifetime warranty. We will be giving our business to Jim and Bay Area Underpinning. As a new home owner we were terrified of what the cost could be to fix our home. Jim really helped us understand what was going on and we would suggest that anyone who is having similar foundation issues like ours, we highly recommend that you should call Jim Rivera and Bay Area Underpinning.

My friend recommended this company and their tech Jason Dye to me, so I requested a foundation inspection/estimate. Jason is very responsive. He would text me and let me know the ETA when he was on the way. After he arrived, he checked everything very carefully. He gave me some good suggestions to help maintain foundation in a good shape, and even helped me set up the extension pipes from gutter downspouts. I enjoyed our communication and is very happy with his service. And he is super friendly to my dog!
