He was very detail oriented and explain all the problem of my foundations. He also proposed multiple fix plan customized to my situation. He was very friendly as well. After careful inspection, their agent, Richard, told me the truth, which was that my crawlspace was fine, that I had no problem with moisture or settling. And then he took the time to show me why. He could have tried to sell me on doing a lot of work, but he didn't. This kind of honesty is impressive! Call Bay Area Underpinning to inspect your crawlspace. You can trust them. If they say it needs work, hire them to do it. I am almost sorry I couldn't!

Last week, my car cut off while exiting the highway in Dixon, and I was stranded in a dangerous spot. Fortunately, your employees who were driving a Bay Area Underpinning truck, Erick Baez, Jesus Vallegomez, and Wesley Almaza stopped to help. They worked hard to try and troubleshoot my car and even pushed it out of the street to a nearby gas station while I waited for AAA. Their professionalism, kindness, and respect were incredible. We had Daniel come out to take a look at our foundation to see if there were any issues that needed to be fixed under our home (a second opinion). After our first inspection we were told there were numerous issues that needed to be fixed that surely would have cost us thousands. We were considering the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program so the first inspection was a recommended foundation company through the EBB program. Daniel came out and took his time measuring the house on the exterior and interior. He was super meticulous and took settling measurements and also went under our home and took photos of the foundation. He sat with us after and explained everything to us. Turns out our foundation is stable and not needing any work. Daniel was super professional and knows his trade very very well. He was very honest. I now have a company I would call back in a heart beat if I needed to have any foundational work done. I will also recommend them to any neighbors that need this kind of company. The estimate was free as well and Daniel also had no hesitation crawling under the house on a 101 degree day to check things out. 5 star company here. Do not hesitate and call them! -Nicole San Ramon

Thank you Bay Area Underpinning for saving the day! I was in a challenging and prolonged situation since going into contract with EagleLift for the stabilization/lift for my house. After a long permit process and continuously delayed start dates, I was informed that EagleLift had been acquired by Groundworks and I’d have to wait a few more month before any progress could happen. It was a deeply frustrating process but the EagleLift team was able to connect us with Bay Area Underpinning (another Groundworks company) who were able to take over and expedite the project. To my surprise, James T. from BAU reached out quickly and assigned a team to come to my house within a week! The team that ended up working on the house, specifically Ish, John and Abel were exceptional. They were diligent, knowledgable, friendly and deeply considerate. They are truly pros who knocked the project out in no time which was reassuring since I was nervous that this project was gonna stretch into the rainy season. My house feels so stable now (minimal cracks too) and the considerable slope is now practically nonexistent! Thanks a lot James T., Ish, John, Abel and the BAU team for taking really great care of us.

Had BAU take care of a chimney that was leaning away from my home, fix my front door which would jam at times of the year and relevel my floors. This was my second time working with BAU who installed screw jacks and leveled my floors several years ago. This time, Juan took a look at the problem areas, took measurements, made recommendations that fit my needs and budget and answered all my questions. Gonzalo and team came to work on my property. They worked quickly to install piers under the chimney and in the crawl space. They put tarp down to keep the house clean in the areas they needed access and cleaned up after themselves each day on the job. They answered my questions and throughly explained the problems and solutions they would implement to level the floor. Overall, I'm pleased with their work, being on time each day, and communication skills and would recommend.

1. Call Center ***** – they took the call after 6:00 PM and were extremely professional. Guy on the phone (sorry I didn't write is name down), was so kind and emailed confirmation immediately. 2. Pre-Visit Confirmation ***** – Email, text and phone calls to confirm the time and prep me for the visit. Incredible. Nobody is doing this right these days and BAU absolutely has it nailed down. 3. Estimator ***** – I wish I could offer more than 5 stars. Joe Le Bel is the most professional tradesman I've met in a long time. Others are good too, but Joe is the gold standard. He sat with me to ask what I was concerned about and what was important to my family. Who does that???? Oh yeah, Joe did. So comforting. Joe was professional and respectful of our space. Was careful to be conscientious about where he placed his gear, tools and instruments. Super clean going under the house without tracking dirt and debris back into the house. (The inspectors from HomeGuard could definitely take notes on this!) Then, once Joe finished, he sat down with us and talked us through all the different aspects off his inspection. What an extremely positive interaction. I would 100% recommend BAU and Joe. Can't get any better than this. Thanks BAU for a great culture of excellence. We just bought a house and literally every single metal pier in the crawlspace was rusted out. Bay Are Underpinning came in and did an awesome job. Their inspector Aaron was super thorough in assessing the damage and explained everything in detail. Then, the repair crew of Eric, Jesus, and Andrew came in and knocked out the entire job in a day — a huge relief considering we had a ton of other work we need to get done before moving in. The work is not cheap, but they offer financing options and stand by their work, so I feel very good about the entire job.

Our house is 85 years old and has some cracking on the stucco, so I called for a free inspection to see if the problems were something we need to be concerned about. Daniel, our inspector, was prompt and friendly and explained everything he was doing and seeing as he took measurements and inspected the foundations. He said that while there are things we can do for earthquake retrofitting (and he did recommend a separate company for that if we wanted to do it) our problems were mostly cosmetic and nothing to worry about. He also took his measurements to be scanned in at his office and kept on file so that we can have him back out for another inspection in the future to compare, again, purely at our discretion. He was respectful, friendly, and straightforward and answered all of my questions. I'd definitely recommend them.

When we had our 1960s home underpinned, the consultant arrived on time to give us a quote. He gave us different options for work to be done and had solutions to cutting cost on things that weren't absolutely necessary. The work was done within a week. All of the workers were professional. Something that stood out the most was the way the workers communicated with each other. They weren't your typical construction crew in this sense. They were very kind to each other and supportive of each other, even when they were in a difficult situation. This isn't common in construction. As for the cost, it was what we had expected and we don't have any complaints. Our house is level now and doesn't feel like we're drunk walking in areas that were previously sagging. There's a reason Bay Area Underpinning is #1 in the area. Would recommend, even if they aren't the cheapest- they get the job done right.

I will sleep much better tonight. I noticed a crack in my foundation and called Bay Area Underpinning. Hunter came out and walked the entire property and went underneath my house. He identified one other issue that I knew about besides the crack and told me they could fix that too. I had no idea you can call structural engineers for chimneys. His quote was fair to me and you can't beat the warranty and financing. Today Jesus Villagomes and Erick Baez came out and fixed the crack, they also looked around underneath and reassured me AGAIN that my house was in good shape. Because I caught it early they were able to fill the crack and then add a carbon fiber exposy seal. They also sealed the crack from the outside, even though they had already filled it in under the house. They were professional, answered all my questions, no matter how many and honestly were just pleasant to work with. They also explained my maintenance plan so I knew what to expect. I would absolutely recommend this entire team, to stay professionally kind in high heat is amazing. The Chimney job is pending and again, I'm ahead of the curve and not waiting for it to get worse.

We used BAU to install piers and screw jacks to level our home. Really pleased with the entire process. The communication was stellar and the foreman made sure we understood each step as it was happening. The whole crew was professional, polite, punctual, and very neat. Each day they left the job site nice and tidy. The overall result is amazing. Our floors are level and the house looks great. Would highly recommend for any foundation/leveling needs.

BAU did a great job on my ADU that had a serious moisture problem that was causing the building to deteriorate. I couldn't remove the tile without replacing it all at a large expense so they did the whole job in a very cramped crawl space. The guys they sent out were great and finished with everything in one day!!!
