We had Daniel come out to take a look at our foundation to see if there were any issues that needed to be fixed under our home (a second opinion). After our first inspection we were told there were numerous issues that needed to be fixed that surely would have cost us thousands. We were considering the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program so the first inspection was a recommended foundation company through the EBB program. Daniel came out and took his time measuring the house on the exterior and interior. He was super meticulous and took settling measurements and also went under our home and took photos of the foundation. He sat with us after and explained everything to us. Turns out our foundation is stable and not needing any work. Daniel was super professional and knows his trade very very well. He was very honest. I now have a company I would call back in a heart beat if I needed to have any foundational work done. I will also recommend them to any neighbors that need this kind of company. I had a great experience with Bay Area Underpinning. They fixed my foundation, which was a substantial job, in a matter days, and did all of the engineering and permitting at a very fair price. I cannot say enough good things about Tyler, Angelo, and Louise, who did all the hard work. They were on time each day, very diligent, and patiently answered all of my questions. Then, when the job was finished, they cleaned the work area and left it in a better condition than they found it. 1. Call Center ***** – they took the call after 6:00 PM and were extremely professional. Guy on the phone (sorry I didn't write is name down), was so kind and emailed confirmation immediately. 2. Pre-Visit Confirmation ***** – Email, text and phone calls to confirm the time and prep me for the visit. Incredible. Nobody is doing this right these days and BAU absolutely has it nailed down. 3. Estimator ***** – I wish I could offer more than 5 stars. Joe Le Bel is the most professional tradesman I've met in a long time. Others are good too, but Joe is the gold standard. He sat with me to ask what I was concerned about and what was important to my family. Who does that???? Oh yeah, Joe did. So comforting. Joe was professional and respectful of our space. Was careful to be conscientious about where he placed his gear, tools and instruments. Super clean going under the house without tracking dirt and debris back into the house. (The inspectors from HomeGuard could definitely take notes on this!) Then, once Joe finished, he sat down with us and talked us through all the different aspects off his inspection. I called in Bay Area Underpinning for foundation work. They were wonderful answering my many concerns, I received prompt return calls, the work was completed within an appropriate time frame, and the best thing he stayed with the estimate to the dollar. I loved the engineer, time frame, and minimal damage repair. I didn't know how my house was going to respond and even the marble and windows handled well. Unfortunately I didn't get the exact lift I wanted in the office even though they tried their hardest. My advice — call them when the problem first arises and the outcome and the house will lift with ease. I definitely recommend BAU. Because I live on a hill one pillar had to be covered – done. I also had a French drain installed to divert the water which was recommended. Thank you

After careful inspection, their agent, Richard, told me the truth, which was that my crawlspace was fine, that I had no problem with moisture or settling. And then he took the time to show me why. He could have tried to sell me on doing a lot of work, but he didn't. This kind of honesty is impressive! Call Bay Area Underpinning to inspect your crawlspace. You can trust them.
