We had Daniel come out to take a look at our foundation to see if there were any issues that needed to be fixed under our home (a second opinion). After our first inspection we were told there were numerous issues that needed to be fixed that surely would have cost us thousands. We were considering the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program so the first inspection was a recommended foundation company through the EBB program. Daniel came out and took his time measuring the house on the exterior and interior. He was super meticulous and took settling measurements and also went under our home and took photos of the foundation. He sat with us after and explained everything to us. Turns out our foundation is stable and not needing any work. Daniel was super professional and knows his trade very very well. He was very honest. I now have a company I would call back in a heart beat if I needed to have any foundational work done. I will also recommend them to any neighbors that need this kind of company. We recently purchased a home in San Jose. In the report it stated that our home was fine and no foundation issues were noted. Upon moving in my wife noticed some cracks started to appear on the walls around the house. We contacted Bay Area underpinning to have them come and inspect our house. A couple of days before our appointment, Jim Rivera gave us a call to confirm the day and time of the appointment. This was the first positive experience we had with Jim and BAU. On the day of the appointment Jim called to let us know that he was 30 minutes away and showed up right on time. Once he arrived he listened to the issues we were noticing and then he went to work. He brought in some hi-tek tools and explained to us what the readings meant. Jim was extremely thorough and personable. He clearly has a lot of knowledge and showed us a bunch of photos that he took while he was in our crawlspace as well as photos of some exterior things that he noticed. Overall he said our home was in great condition with only minimal issues that we should address. He was very patient in answering all of our questions and provided us with a quote when he was finished. We were pleasantly surprised that the cost was very reasonable and comes with a lifetime warranty. We will be giving our business to Jim and Bay Area Underpinning. As a new home owner we were terrified of what the cost could be to fix our home. Thank you Bay Area Underpinning for saving the day! I was in a challenging and prolonged situation since going into contract with EagleLift for the stabilization/lift for my house. After a long permit process and continuously delayed start dates, I was informed that EagleLift had been acquired by Groundworks and I’d have to wait a few more month before any progress could happen. It was a deeply frustrating process but the EagleLift team was able to connect us with Bay Area Underpinning (another Groundworks company) who were able to take over and expedite the project. To my surprise, James T. from BAU reached out quickly and assigned a team to come to my house within a week! The team that ended up working on the house, specifically Ish, John and Abel were exceptional. They were diligent, knowledgable, friendly and deeply considerate. They are truly pros who knocked the project out in no time which was reassuring since I was nervous that this project was gonna stretch into the rainy season. My house feels so stable now (minimal cracks too) and the considerable slope is now practically nonexistent! I had a great experience with Bay Area Underpinning. They fixed my foundation, which was a substantial job, in a matter days, and did all of the engineering and permitting at a very fair price. I cannot say enough good things about Tyler, Angelo, and Louise, who did all the hard work. They were on time each day, very diligent, and patiently answered all of my questions. We used BAU to install piers and screw jacks to level our home. Really pleased with the entire process. The communication was stellar and the foreman made sure we understood each step as it was happening. The whole crew was professional, polite, punctual, and very neat. Each day they left the job site nice and tidy. The overall result is amazing. Our floors are level and the house looks great. Would highly recommend for any foundation/leveling needs.

The team I worked with at BAU was great. I hired them to repair some minor vertical and horizontal foundation cracks that were found in a recent general home inspection. Everyone who came out was upbeat, professional, punctual, thorough, and highly detailed. Hunter came out first to check the entire foundation and give a free estimate. They then split the work up into two dates, and each crew was great. Michael and James came out first for the initial round, and then Alexander and Gabe came out to wrap up the last few areas. The guys were always on time, which is greatly appreciated. Both repair teams also did their own additional checks of the surrounding areas, also greatly appreciated. They were also able to provide before and after pictures, and were respectful of the property.
