I will sleep much better tonight. I noticed a crack in my foundation and called Bay Area Underpinning. Hunter came out and walked the entire property and went underneath. He identified one other issue that I knew about besides the crack and told me they could fix that too. I had no idea you call structural engineers for chimneys. His quote was fair to me and you can't beat the warranty. Today Jesus Villagomes and Erick Baez came out and fixed the crack, they also looked around underneath and reassured me AGAIN that my house was in good shape. Because I caught it early they were able to fill the crack and then add a carbon fiber exposy seal. They also sealed the crack from the outside, even though they had already filled it in under the house. They were professional, answered all my questions, no matter how many and honestly were just pleasant to work with. They also explained my maintenance plan so I knew what to expect. I would absolutely recommend this entire team, to stay professionally kind in high heat is amazing.

Several months ago, I noticed that doors in my house were no longer closing and latching. Specifically, my front door no longer locked completely. Once I got it fully locked I could no longer open my front door anymore, so I knew I had foundation issues. I called Bay Area Underpinning to come look at my foundation and do some measurements. We discovered that my front living room was sinking approximately one and a half to 2 inches. The crew, Lance Sladek, Jake Hall, and Eddie Shaw, crawled under my house and dug 30 to 40 foot holes in the ground to install piers that would lift my foundation. These gentlemen worked in very cramped dirty conditions in 90-100° weather. I was extremely happy with their work and their dedication to doing the job correctly. My after the foundation lift, my front door as well as several other doors in my home were able to close and latch again.

Thank you Bay Area Underpinning for saving the day! I was in a challenging and prolonged situation since going into contract with EagleLift for the stabilization/lift for my house. After a long permit process and continuously delayed start dates, I was informed that EagleLift had been acquired by Groundworks and I’d have to wait a few more month before any progress could happen. It was a deeply frustrating process but the EagleLift team was able to connect us with Bay Area Underpinning (another Groundworks company) who were able to take over and expedite the project. To my surprise, James T. from BAU reached out quickly and assigned a team to come to my house within a week! The team that ended up working on the house, specifically Ish, John and Abel were exceptional. They were diligent, knowledgable, friendly and deeply considerate. They are truly pros who knocked the project out in no time which was reassuring since I was nervous that this project was gonna stretch into the rainy season. My house feels so stable now (minimal cracks too) and the considerable slope is now practically nonexistent! After careful review of several contractors, we chose Bay Area Underpinning and so glad we did! The entire process was smooth from the sales engineer estimate to the completion of the job, the communication was outstanding all along from day to day and ourblift was a big job with a full week of labor intensive work. I especially want to thank Foreman Cody Summers, Co-Foreman Ken Hamlin, and Installer Nikolas Klein for their outstanding work and customer service! Foreman Andrew is incredible and a leader. We hired BAU to perform a whole house underpinning job from December 2022-March 2023. Our recently purchased 1950's home sat on expansive clay soil and had been settling for decades. The project was a big job and complicated by the winter rains that occurred throughout many days of the project. Andrew was extremely professional, knowledgeable about every aspect of the job and managed the entire project class and skill.He communicates very effectively and is transparent to assuage any concerns that we had on the project. He also shows up earlier than anyone, and works the entire day, rain or shine, in the mud and trenches with his team. This leadership was impressive. Since the completion of our project, he has remained available and came out to make some minor adjustments promptly and free of charge. We recently had foundation work completed. The crew was on time every day and worked hard to keep a very dirty job and their traffic through the house to a minimum. The crew chief, Robert Busch, was amazing. Telling us what was planned for the day, any unforeseen problems, and giving us a recap of what was completed daily. We could not have had a better experience with his communication and hard work. Everyone was respectful and friendly. I also thought that the evaluation and estimate experience was positive. Jim communicated clearly and we never felt that work being suggested was unnecessary. He explained clearly and showed us pictures of what was going on under the house.Hope we never need them again, but would use them in a flash.

Within a few months of buying our first home, we noticed some troubling signs: bedroom doors swinging open or closed on their own, “bubbles” and creaks in sections of the newly renovated floors, and significant cracks splitting the concrete in our garage. Although two general inspectors assured us that our house was level, we reached out to Bay Area Underpinning (BAU) for a more detailed assessment—and we're so glad we did! Inspector Christopher Murray conducted a meticulous inspection with radar equipment. While technically our house was level, Christopher uncovered that our foundation was sinking by inches in multiple areas, explaining the issues we were experiencing. Though the news and associated repair cost were a bit daunting as new homeowners, Christopher’s knowledge, professionalism, and clear answers to all our questions reassured us that we were in good hands. With confidence, we decided to proceed with BAU for the repair. Fredy Mora and his crew did exceptional work with the demo of the old concrete slabs and the prep for lifting, working quickly and efficiently. Fredy’s positive attitude made the process smooth, and his team was thorough and dedicated from start to finish. A special thank you to our lift project manager, Kevin Gaeden. Kevin was an outstanding communicator, keeping us fully informed and addressing every question promptly. His attentiveness made a huge difference throughout the project, and we felt reassured every step of the way. Esteban Ibarra, a crewmember on the lift team, also did superb work, handling the hands-on details with skill and care. Both Kevin and Esteban even went above and beyond, taking time to fix a jammed bedroom door that had shifted with the house lift. While foundation issues are never easy, we couldn’t have asked for a better team. We’re incredibly grateful to Bay Area Underpinning for their expertise, professionalism, and exceptional service.
