Foundation Repair Services in Danville
We get it. Foundation problems are stressful. However, we’ve successfully completed over 2700 foundation repairs in Northern California. We’ll guide you through the repair process step by step. You’ll know exactly what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and when we’ll be doing it.
Sloping floors, and doors and windows that are out of plumb are signs your foundation isn’t level. This is often due to settlement and can be fixed via a process called underpinning which uses steel push piers to lift the structure back up to where it was before.
You can think of helical piers as giant screws. They’re quick and easy to install, and great for new construction projects requiring a deep foundation system. They’re a cost-effective alternative to more traditional concrete piers.
If your home was built on a hillside, you might experience foundation movement caused by settlement. This happens because over time soil that was at the top of the hill slowly makes it way down the hill. This can cause problems like sloping floors, doors that stick, and tiny cracks in drywall. Concrete piers drilled deep down into the bedrock are used to stabilize the structure.
Over time, concrete paths and walkways can experience movement caused by things like drainage problems, tree roots, and expansive clay soil. Because uneven concrete can be a safety hazard, it should be repaired as soon as possible to avoid liability issues.
Concrete is lifted via a simple, minimally-invasive process that involves injecting polyurethane foam under it. As the foam dries it lifts the concrete back into place. It’s less expensive than replacing the concrete and there’s no waiting period after the procedure is complete. You can use the path or walkway immediately.
Sometimes your home’s foundation is sound, but there are signs of settlement like cracked walls, and doors and windows that are out of alignment. This is usually caused by deteriorated screw jacks or crawl space support posts that have settled. When this happens we can usually use the existing pier locks and just remove/replace the posts or screw jacks.

Had Bay Area Underpinning come out for a free estimate to check my foundation. They verified the appt 2 days before along with day of, I got a link as to where the technician was and he was on time. Ronald was very professional and informative. He was able to answer all my questions in a way I could understand and I got a copy of all the findings. Within a few months of buying our first home, we noticed some troubling signs: bedroom doors swinging open or closed on their own, “bubbles” and creaks in sections of the newly renovated floors, and significant cracks splitting the concrete in our garage. Although two general inspectors assured us that our house was level, we reached out to Bay Area Underpinning (BAU) for a more detailed assessment—and we're so glad we did! Inspector Christopher Murray conducted a meticulous inspection with radar equipment. While technically our house was level, Christopher uncovered that our foundation was sinking by inches in multiple areas, explaining the issues we were experiencing. Though the news and associated repair cost were a bit daunting as new homeowners, Christopher’s knowledge, professionalism, and clear answers to all our questions reassured us that we were in good hands. With confidence, we decided to proceed with BAU for the repair. Fredy Mora and his crew did exceptional work with the demo of the old concrete slabs and the prep for lifting, working quickly and efficiently. Fredy’s positive attitude made the process smooth, and his team was thorough and dedicated from start to finish. A special thank you to our lift project manager, Kevin Gaeden. Kevin was an outstanding communicator, keeping us fully informed and addressing every question promptly. His attentiveness made a huge difference throughout the project, and we felt reassured every step of the way. Esteban Ibarra, a crewmember on the lift team, also did superb work, handling the hands-on details with skill and care. Both Kevin and Esteban even went above and beyond, taking time to fix a jammed bedroom door that had shifted with the house lift. While foundation issues are never easy, we couldn’t have asked for a better team. We’re incredibly grateful to Bay Area Underpinning for their expertise, professionalism, and exceptional service. Thank you, BAU!
