Have you noticed small cracks in your slab foundation? Hairline cracks may not be a big concern to you, but even the finest cracks can indicate more serious damage that is happening beneath your foundation. Often, these problems are related to soil movement or void formation under the concrete. These issues cause the slab to become unstable and may lead to cracks, heaving, or settlement. Other concrete slabs--driveways, patios, pool decks, and sidewalks--can go through the same issues that a slab foundation may. Prevent trips and falls in your home by fixing these concrete slab problems right away.

We use ECP's resistance piers, which are made for structural slab support. They can be used mechanically or hydraulically on either a poured grade or floating slab. After the anchor or pile is installed, the helical brackets are installed through the slab. The brackets have a load capacity to meet the needs of any home. They range from 8kips to 40 kips. This slab pier works as our other resistance, end-bearing pier in that it does not rely on skin friction to produce support. And like with any structure installation, the entire slab acts as the reaction force. The resistance piers are installed using a grid pattern with spacing no greater than five foot apart. After all the piers are installed, the slab load is transferred across the piers uniformly and evenly by activating the hydraulic rams simultaneously.
Some specific benefits of slab piers include:
