Foundation Repair

Signs of an un-level foundation include problems opening doors and windows, sloped floors, and cracks in walls. We can use heavy duty steel push piers to re-level your home’s foundation.

Helical Piers

When you want to quickly and easily install a deep foundation for a construction project, helical piers are a great choice. They get their name from the fact that they’re shaped like corkscrews, and they’re less expensive than traditional concrete piers.

Drilled Concrete Piers

Structures erected on hillsides are susceptible to foundation trouble caused by soil erosion. This is because soil – over time – tends to migrate downhill. We can drill concrete piers deep down into the bedrock in order to re-stabilize the foundation.

Polyurethane Foam Injection

Over the years, concrete slabs such as sidewalks, pool decks, and driveways, can sink because of problems with tree roots, drainage, or expansive soil. Un-level concrete is both a safety and a liability issue. We can re-level sunken concrete using polyurethane foam injection (also known as ”slabjacking”). It’s a minimally-invasive procedure that involves injecting the special polyurethane foam under the slab in order to lift it again. It’s less expensive that replacing the slab, and you can use the walkway immediately after the repair is complete.

Crawl Space Screw Jack Replacement

It’s possible to experience signs of foundation settlement even though there’s nothing wrong with your home’s foundation. This usually occurs when either your screw jacks have gone bad, or the support posts in your home’s crawl space have settled. This problem can be repaired by using the existing pier locks and then just removing/replacing the posts or screw jacks. The floor can then be lifted up again.

Foundation Replacement

Believe it or not, there is some good news: Most foundations don’t need to be replaced, they can be repaired. However, there are times when it’s not cost-effective to repair a foundation. At Bay Area Underpinning we do both full and partial foundation replacement.
